The Berkshires are gorgeous! I love all the roads. I drive back and forth from where I live now, Albany NY, and where i’m from, Rhode Island, very often and always pass through. I often get off of the highway and meander along the roads of the Berkshire towns for a bit.

Yeah there’s a lot to see here, both beauty and decline. I’m still getting to know the area and it’ll probably be a decade before I don’t feel like an outsider, but getting a feel for what appeals to me photographically is interesting.

I was just thinking today as I drove toward I-80 on my way home from Wegmans that I so much prefer the winding local route, even if it does take me 10 minutes longer than the highway-to-highway connection. So much more to see!

Exactly, and if you're on the hunt for photographs the highway is no use whatsoever!

Love your final choice Tom, but also really like the multi-coloured shed (which looks familiar)… could I have seen it before the snow? SCB

Yes, you'll have seen it in town.

Thank you so much Tom. I don't know why I didn't consider that I can bring my camera with me in the car everywhere I go and maybe stop to take some photos whenever it strikes me. There is a lovley little cemetery on my way how and I've gone by with a gorgeous sunset several times but never have my camera. I'm feeling inspired by your post to stop and capture the moment more. And your encounters with people is really truly inspiring as well. Thank you so much for sharing this!
