I can relate to that struggle with art sales so much, it’s really challenging and I feel like so much of it can be luck of the draw with who shows up looking to buy physical art and who is there more for something to do (not a bad thing but can be discouraging for vendors putting so much work into selling their art).
I love what you did with these prints and the open studio sale! Beautiful, beautiful work, it’s nice to come across someone on here not too far from me in New England.
Chris, thank you for your kind words here and for subscribing to Writing with Light! We've had a spate of new subscribers lately in the midst of a busy time and haven't had a chance to look into who is crossing our path. Where in New England are you?
And yeah, the struggle with in-person art sales is so tough. I think there are other ways to find people who want to buy our work that feel less sales-y, less vendor-y. I doubt we'll ever do another art fair again, but you never know.
I agree, I think art fairs are so fun but they seem best for consumables and smaller commitment items, I tried doing a few with just small prints and they were still tough. It’s awesome you could bring the work for the fair online though and share it with a broader audience.
I’m in Providence but spend a lot of time out in your area of western Mass!
Lovely work and such nice photos of you together.
Thank you! Wasn't easy to get that picture of us with the Yellow Wall - I kept holding my side too high, but we got there in the end.
