Omg so so so beautiful! No snow in Berlin this year 😢 I hope we'll get to see some white, too. Happy Holidays, my lovely 🫶🏼 φιλάκια

Your photos are so wonderful. I especially like the one of the hillside that is all bare trees--there's such a textural quality to it. Reminds me of fiber art. Wishing you a peaceful, happy holiday season. So glad to have connected with you here this year.

Yes, that photograph does have such an interesting texture - love the it evokes fiber art for you. Rita, connecting with you here has been such a bright spot for me, thanks for your friendship and for writing words that are always worth reading.

Thank you Rita, the photograph you mention has had a great response since I began putting it out there. There’s been a few instances of people thinking it was a painting or illustration, so to hear that it reminds you of fiber art is so interesting. I do like to intentionally create photographs that don’t scream ‘photography’ but on this occasion the landscape did all the work. Happy holidays!

That sounds chilly indeed. The photographs are atmospheric, winter white and calm. The wind is howling round us here tonight but the forecast for Christmas itself is mild. Stay warm.

Still need to do a little more grocery shopping but we're looking forward to hunkering down and enjoying our first white Christmas in the house... we even have a little Vin Santo squirreled away to enjoy on the day. Hope the wind dies down for you soon!

We always considered Dec 21st as the first day of Spring. Yup, the days are getting longer from here on out. And that's a fact.

Love the shot of the road with the melted snow. Such an iconic moment each year. The snow stays white here for the duration. Not so much in town.

Dec 21st as the first day of Spring, that's amazing! Very forward-thinking!

BTW, the mail strike is over and Tom's beautiful print arrived the same day by courier with a hefty brokerage fee. As expected, the union was crushed by the government as public pressure built to end their job action. This is an ongoing issue for essential workers being denied their right to collective bargaining. The picket lines and burn barrels remained in place until the moment the workers were forced to reentered their posts the following morning. The backlog will take weeks to clear up and there is some concern that Santa will not get all his letters from the children in time. But life carries on. Sounds like material for a song, doesn't it? Reminds me of "Horses" by The Rheostatics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_Kg0LWdRII

Oh hurrah, glad the print arrived - sorry about the brokerage fee though, it's always an adventure shipping to Canada!! Sounds like an impossible situation with the mail dilemma... sorry for the workers but glad for all the people depending on their checks coming in the mail. Tough times!

So beautiful. I’m in Seattle and it’s wet and grey! Wouldn’t mind a dollop of snow to brighten things up. Merry Christmas!

One time we spent Christmas in England and didn't see the sun for the better part of 3 weeks - at one point it peeked out and it was almost alarming, like what is that!? If only all Christmases were merry and bright and snow-covered. Merry Christmas Jacqueline!!

I’m English so I know all about that! In Seattle we don’t see the sun for three months so we actually think fondly of British winters!

I didn't know you were English, expect a DM from me at some point!

Yup! Moved to the States 13 years ago—can’t believe it’s been that long, we thought we’d only stay 3 years! DM me any time.

We thought the neighbor's shed was going to be this unsightly presence but on day one our daughter noticed the face and Sheddy the adorable shed smiling at our house was born. All in the reframing! Happy holidays!!

Thank you, Pamela! As I type this it is -7 degrees with a windchill of -19, wow we are not in New Jersey anymore. Happy Holidays!

Diana, You and Tom are definitely not in New Jersey any more. Western Mass tends to be a little colder and snowier in the winter than the coast where I am. But you and Tom have got this this Massachusetts living thing. Happy Holidays!

Thank you Jennifer!! The cold is intense - about to go grocery shopping and am wearing full wool thermals under my clothes. It's not for everyone! Happy Holidays!

Thank you! I'm already done with winter and the deep cold, but somehow it's still December and we have a long way to go. I have some new gloves that might facilitate more photographs though... Happy holidays Jennifer.

Tom -that image of the almost solitary tree set against the folds of two hills is astonishingly good.

Merry Christmas to you both :)

Thank you Stephen, that photograph does seem to be a popular one. It wasn't one that I immediately knew was a winner at the time, but I do really like it too. Hope you all have a great Christmas!
