Piermont and Nyack have been special places in my life since I was a kid. Lovely photos.

Somehow it seemed a world away from our hometown right? So close yet so far. A friend of mine lived in this beautiful old house in Nyack (or maybe Upper Nyack?) and we'd hang out downtown and go to Piermont for dinner at Freelance Cafe. Such good times...

Thank you Alison, I always love going there and it's so quiet this time of year. Thanks for reading!

Very evocative and lovely images. I also like the first photograph, where the verticals above contrast with the soft curving reeds below and seem to be hovering in thin air.

Yes that old structure in the water was really the only thing to see, so I had to include the reeds in the shot to give some context. It was an interesting experience, and photographic challenge!

Miss witnessing those views of fog over the Hudson. Grew up in Ossining just minutes from Tarrytown. Nice read and images.

Thank you Luis, small world. We sometimes pass through Ossining but haven't ever stopped there. Can you recommend any locations there that might be good for photography? Thanks for reading!

Knowing that you’ll end up printing, does that influence how you shoot the images?

Thanks for that question Chris. I wouldn't say it impacts how we *shoot* the images but it does impact how we edit/process/develop them. We always want a print to look accurate in person to how that same image looked on screen, which tends to result in us taking the lights in our images that fraction higher without anything getting close to being blown out.
